Writing department wiki editing guidelines

These guidelines apply when you're editing writing content or other articles at the wiki

  • Don't be afraid to add new content to articles
  • Feel free to add links to related writing content to existing articles
  • Don't delete content from articles before talking to the head of the writing department and/or the primary author of the article
  • Don't edit an accepted, established or implemented writing content without talking to the head of the writing department and/or the primary author of the article
    • The primary author of an article can be verified by taking a look at the history of the article; a link to the history of every article can be found in the sidebar at the left
  • Don't edit [[User:Username]] articles unless it's your own user page
  • Propagate substantial changes to wiki articles at the forums so the other contributors and developers can provide feedback
    • Post in an existing thread about the wiki article in question if there is one
    • Create a new thread about the wiki article at the forums if there is none yet; use your best judgement when selecting the right subboard for the post; don't worry about it too much, we can always move posts at the forums to different subboards later if needed
  • Watch the articles you're primarily contributing to; you will be informed as soon as the article gets edited
    • You can add articles to your watch list by clicking on the Watch link that can be found in the sidebar at the left
  • When in doubt, communiate
